Corridor History

The Beaufort Digital Corridor is the response to a request by the City and the citizens of Beaufort to grow a high-wage economy while further diversifying her economy. 

The following represent a few milestones in the development of the Beaufort Digital Corridor.

  • January 4 - Featured article in Hilton Head Monthly, "Information Highway"

    January 10 - First time hosting the Chamber's Business After Hours event

    January 15 - First Entrepreneurship Series seminar with USCB CSci/ACM students

    February 7 - First Members/Sponsors-only Town Hall

    March 15 - Iris Telehealth - Telemedicine worker locates to BASEcamp

    March 18 - First full-time coworker subscription

    April 15 - Maron Law Group - Startup software company locates to BASEcamp

    May 1 - Dr. Robert LeFavi, Dean of USCB Beaufort campus, becomes BDC Board member

    May 6 - BDC announces two summer camp offerings of Game On! in June and July

    May 10 - BDC participates in Beaufort Cultural District project designing a bench for shuttle pickup location

    June 1 - BASEcamp offices are at capacity, additional co-working area added to existing space

    June 3 - Life Launcher - entrepreneurial students from the College of Charleston ImpactX accelerator locate to BASEcamp for Live Work Mentor program
