Learn all about free online coding courses, mentorship opportunities, and career resources for anyone interested in programming - whether you're brand new to code or looking to add technical skills.

Build Carolina is a non-profit dedicated to further reducing any barriers into technology careers for South Carolinians. Learn more about Build Carolina's program offerings (most of them are 100% free!) and how you can gain the skills needed to launch a career in this ever-growing industry.

Meet the Speaker:

Kaity Miller is the chief operating officer of Build Carolina, a South Carolina non-profit organization focused on advancing the state's technology community through demand-driven job training programs, relevant employer resources and meaningful connections in the industry. She oversees all programs' development, implementation and day-to-day operations. Formerly Build Carolina's program director for SC Codes and Develop Carolina, she has extensive experience in South Carolina's tech space.

Miller is passionate about lowering existing barriers into technology careers and serves as a board member for Charleston Women in Tech. She is a highly skilled public speaker and presenter and is an expert on a multitude of topics ranging from diversity in the tech industry to how to diversify tech talent using non-traditional pathways. Previous engagements include DiverseIT Summit Breakout Session speaker, Growth Summit 2021 panel moderator, SC Tech Webinar Series panelist and Million Women Mentors SC Symposium speaker, among others.

A graduate of the College of Charleston, Miller was awarded a 2022 SC Women in Business Award by Charleston Business Monthly and was a Campus Designee for the 2020 Leadership Institute associated with the Level Up Coding Institute.
