Beaufort Resident and Restauranteur Contributes Tech Start-up Success to Beaufort Digital Corridor

How a restaurant owner and tech entrepreneur stayed afloat in 2020

"If it weren't for being in the incubator program here, we would have dropped this project," said BASEcamp resident Gary Lang.

Gary Lang is the founder of Rooler, a third party add-on program for restaurant POS systems that greatly enhances the dynamics of reporting and analytics along with forecasting for independent restaurant tours. They were accepted into the Beaufort Digital Corridor's incubator program and have recently graduated from the Relentless Challenge Grant.

He heard about the Beaufort Digital Corridor via word of mouth and was pleasantly surprised that his start-up qualified for the incubation program and their subsequent success despite building a tech start-up around the restaurant industry during a pandemic.

Lang had this to say about the program: "It's been great! We were immediately assigned a mentor, BDC Board Chair Kevin Klingler, who has started two software companies and sold one. To have somebody who has been there, help you with your business has been huge. We're in the restaurant industry as well, and COVID last year killed our business. If it weren't for being in the incubator program here, we would have dropped this project."

Congrats Rooler! We're so happy to have been a part of your success story.
