What's New at the BDC

Summer is in full swing at the Corridor–-and we're feeling energized by the power of collaboration.

In June, we teamed up with our friends at EDIFY to host the first-ever CINEMA Summer Camp for aspiring young filmmakers. The result? A standing-room-only final showcase in the upstairs Hargray Classroom, where students shared their original short films with a packed house. The energy, creativity, and pure joy in the room reminded us why spaces like this matter.

What made the camp so impactful wasn't just the turnout–-it was the transformation we witnessed. Over the course of the week, students explored storytelling, editing, and camera work–-many for the very first time. Seeing their ideas come to life on screen (and the pride on their faces during the final screening) was a powerful reminder of what's possible when we invest in young talent and create collaborative learning environments.

In that same spirit of community and connection, we've partnered with EforAll to co-host the All Ideas Summer Pitch Contest–-an open invitation to dreamers, doers, and difference-makers across the Lowcountry. As we look ahead to fall, we're thrilled to announce the return of the Run Forrest Run 5K, now in its fifth year. Even better–-we're once again teaming up with Holy Trinity and Habitat for Humanity to bring back the Beaufort Triple Crown 5K Race Series, uniting our three events for an even greater impact. Each year, this series brings together more than 600+ fitness enthusiasts, families, and local supporters, all running for great causes.
